Skokie, IL — Miller Architects & Builders is proud to partner with Haben Funeral Home on the expansion of their existing building, which includes pet bereavement services and added space for funeral staff. With the existing building being an iconic centerpiece in the village of Skokie, Miller Architects & Builders ensured the new addition complements the existing structure, utilizing a combination of brick and stucco similar to the current building.

The 1,256-square-foot addition to the facility will help staff operate more efficiently. This addition has two distinct parts; the first is the pet bereavement area named Cherished Companions Dignified Pet Crematory by Haben. This section will offer loved ones a comforting space, including an area to display merchandise to help commemorate the pet and an area for loved ones to make arrangements for the pet’s remains and memorialization. The second half of the addition will be utilized by the funeral home, providing storage with a one-stall garage and direct access to the body preparation area, including a walk-in mortuary cooler.
