Miller Architects & Builders Completes Construction on Levander Funeral Home

Levander 27

Albion, NE– Miller Architects & Builders is pleased to announce the completion of a new, modern facility for Levander Funeral Home. With a substantial community presence in Albion since 1956, Levander Funeral Home was in need of a new facility to meet the growing needs of families they serve, and kicked off the project in April of 2023. The newly constructed 10,126-square-foot building has been designed with accessibility in mind and offers the opportunity for expansion in the future.

Featuring a single-level layout, it was designed to eliminate the need for steps and ensure seamless operations throughout the facility. The new building offers a spacious chapel seating up to 200 people, which can also function as two visitation rooms. A family lounge, arrangement room, merchandise showroom, and private staff areas enhance the services provided, while ample parking and an outdoor patio have been included to create a welcoming environment. Construction by Miller Architects & Builders began in April 2023 on a 3.7-acre property on the south end of town.

“The Levander family is thrilled to have a building that will adequately serve families,” said Dave TeBrake, Executive Vice President of Miller Architects and Builders. “We’ve carefully designed every detail to ensure it provides comfort, accessibility, and space for families during their most difficult moments. We are honored to have been a part of this project and to provide a facility that will serve the Albion community for many years to come.”

Founded by Melvin Levander and later joined by his son Ron in 1977 and grandson Tony in 2006, the funeral home has been family-owned for three generations. After many considerations, it was determined that their current facility at 3rd and Marengo Streets no longer provided the accessibility, space, or infrastructure required to serve the community. Following the evaluation of the remodeling options, the family opted for a new location to ensure long-term success. The new facility is now complete and open to serve families in the Albion area.
