Knollcrest Funeral HOme Steuerle

The Steuerle Chapel in Villa Park was originally built in 1952. Robert(Bob) Van Staalduinen purchased this facility in November of 2020. Bob is the founder and owner of the Knollcrest Funeral Home in Lombard, which he started in the late 1980s. As he continued to build that business, the opportunity to purchase the Steuerle Chapel came about, and Bob felt it was the right opportunity to expand his growing business. With the purchase of this property, Bob understood that this facility needed to address some shortcomings with the building to have the ability to grow this business like he did in Lombard. Bob hired the Midwest’s leading funeral home company, Miller Architects & Builders, to analyze the site and help Bob determine what could be done on the property to improve the building. After much analysis and deliberation, it was determined that to start over with a new facility would be the best course of action in the long run.
