Highlighting 2017 Miller Projects

At Miller Architects, we complete a lot of projects throughout the year. Now that we’re about to start 2018, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on a few projects over the last year. Some of these projects are completed, some are in the middle of construction, and one just broke ground.

Great Theatre

This year, we were happy to complete work for the Great Theatre project in Waite Park, Minnesota.

The Great River Educational Arts Theatre was founded in 1998 and is currently the only theater dedicated to children and their families in central Minnesota.

The Great Theatre embarked on some interior renovations to better use their space. The lobby was enlarged, the shop size was reduced, and new men’s and women’s dressing rooms and a unisex restroom were added. New stage lighting was added to a light grid along with moveable seating platforms and an enlarged rehearsal studio.

Holly Ridge Apartments

On September 28th of this year, we broke ground on Holly Ridge Apartments in Starbuck, Minnesota. This project will involve a 24,140 square foot addition to Holly Ridge Assisted Living.

The new addition consists of twenty-two one-bedroom/one-bathroom units along with a new main entrance with a drive-under canopy for protection from the elements, a new family lounge/living room, conference room, wellness room, multi-purpose/activity room, barber/beauty salon, nourishment center, spa, exam room, elevator, and offices.

We are expected to complete the project in September of 2018.

Mysa House Senior Apartments

In Late October, we broke ground in Mora, Minnesota to begin construction on Mysa House Senior Apartments.

Mysa House is a new 3-story, 34,580 square foot senior apartment project that will provide 25 affordable housing units with optional care services. The new apartment features one and two bedroom units, a spacious lobby with a seating area, a community room with serving kitchen, a dining area and TV/lounge area, a conference room, an exercise room, on-site nurses office, office, and a family lounge on the second floor.

Each unit has a patio or deck. The building also has a large covered porch for outdoor relaxation. Completion is scheduled for Spring of 2018.
