Sauk Centre, Minn. – Miller Architects & Builders has completed construction on First Lutheran Church. The renovations were needed after water damage from a leaking vent had destroyed their education wing on both levels. When assessing the build, the decision was made to add an update to their sanctuary, moving the sanctuary 90 degrees and updating the look.
The remodel of the current space will enlarge the library/adult education room, add a kitchenette, move a restroom, and revise the nursery to add a mother’s room for privacy. The lower level was refocused on the use of the children/youth ministry. The decision to turn the sanctuary 90 degrees will allow for unobstructed sight lines, with new glass walls to separate the Christian Life Center and add space for overflow seating. To finish up the project, new flooring and paint were added for a welcoming entrance in the gathering space, as well as a new exterior sign.
