Dennis Wessel began his career in the construction industry in 1984. He has worked in sales and management and in the past four years he has been a development consultant for Miller Architects & Builders. Dennis helps clients with their needs to suit their project, answers questions and helps them transition into their new facility. Here is more about Dennis:

How long have you worked at Miller? Five years.

Professional background: For the first part of my career in the 80s and 90s, I worked in the commercial roofing business. Since the 2000s, I have been in commercial construction.

What kind of projects have you worked on? Many of my Miller projects have been in the Bakken region of western North Dakota, such as hotels, commercial buildings and apartments. Locally, I’ve done mostly manufacturing plants.

What is your favorite part of your job? I’ve certainly had the opportunity to witness the oil boom of North Dakota first hand. That has been exciting.

What is a favorite project that you have worked on? Some of the hotel projects have been fun. They take a lot of work to put together a deal; they have challenging schedules and yet are very rewarding when completed.

What do you like to do in your off time? Over the years, bird hunting with my dogs and friends have been rewarding. Golf also is a great game that I’ll concede I’ll never master! I also enjoy summer time at the lake mixed in with some fishing.

Do you have a Motto or Personal Mantra that you work and live by? Work hard and play hard!
