Barrett Care Center, privately owned by Vernon and Joan Junker, is a skilled nursing facility dedicated wholly to the care of the elderly. The Barrett Care Center was built in 1967, assisted living apartments were added in 1997 and again in 2005.
Their mission statement is “Families Serving Families.” Their goal is to provide a pleasant, healthy, home-like atmosphere for their guests where they can live feeling secure that their physical, psychological, and spiritual needs will be met.
The new 5,360 square foot addition and renovation consists of six new private rooms with private bathrooms, eight new bathrooms added to eight existing private rooms, expanding the existing dayroom with new exterior patio area, expansion of existing therapy room, two new offices and lobby/entrance area, new nourishment area in existing dining room, new parking and drop-off lane. The renovation also includes re-roofing an existing portion of their current building and demolishing an existing fireplace in the dining room to open up the space for residents.
Miller Architects & Builders is proud to have the opportunity to team with owners, Vernon and Joan Junker, and Jeanine Junker, Administrator-Barrett Care Center, on this exciting project from architectural services through construction.
