Kudos to the Minnesota legislature, both houses, for passing legislation creating a meaningful rate adjustment for the providers and caregivers throughout the State.  What is significant is that there was (and is) strong bi-partisan support for this long-overdue legislation.  Maybe the legislators on both sides of the aisle finally realized that quality long term care was no longer an issue of party, or just for grandma and grandpa, but rather their own parents, and now even themselves as baby-boomers age in place and seek choices in their own communities.  The legislation will have a huge impact on facilities statewide that have struggled in recent years with staff retainage and keeping buildings and programs current.  Everyone should be very pleased with this outcome.  I know I am.
